Plastic renovation: Less bacterial growth and no corrosion
After a number of years, steel air-conditioning units generally require renovation. This is certainly true if the unit’s compressor is partly on the outside wall. The continuous air current and moist, acidic outdoor air will impair the coatings and the steel. Plastic is the ultimate solution to this problem. Coatings require remedial work every few years, but our Global-Cell® sheeting does not.
Conventional renovation
Air-conditioning units can be renovated in several ways. The conventional way is to remove oxidation and recoat them. However, this causes odour in the building and, additionally, the assembly of the air- conditioning unit causes problems. Old units frequently contain internal insulation between the frames and panels. Consequently, the surface is not smoothly finished and the risk of contaminants between the frames will remain high. For that reason, conventional renovation does not significantly improve the situation.
Renovation with Global-Cell®
Global-Cell® provides the solution. The inside of the air-conditioning unit will be examined, after which plastic sheeting will be placed over the existing surface. The sheeting will be fitted seamlessly in the unit, thus reducing the risk of microbiological contamination. Each section of an air-conditioning unit can be provided with a smooth, plastic surface thanks to this method. The end-result is an unit that can remain in service for many more years, without high maintenance costs.
Less maintenance
Maintenance costs will decrease significantly after the use of Global-Cell®. Patching up coatings will be a thing of the past and no corrosion will occur because the sheeting is highly chemical-resistant. The smooth finish means dirt is unable to settle, making the units easy to clean.
