Purpose
It is important to coat an air-cooled heat exchanger with a protective coating in order to extend its service life. Our Alucoat®507 is ideal for this purpose. Alucoat®507 is a coating that does not affect the heat transmission or cooling capacity of an air-cooled heat exchanger. It is also important to clean lamellas of air-cooled heat exchangers every year to retain optimum heat transfer and thus limit the damage that contaminants can potentially cause to them.
Cleaning of air-cooled heat exchangers
Altena Cleaning B.V. uses various kinds of cleaning equipment for this work, depending on the type and extent of contamination. In many cases we use high-pressure hot water (350 bar). Use of the right spraying technique prevents damage to the row of lamellas and allows achievement of the highest attainable efficiency. Our engineers have been trained internally and externally to perform this work safely and properly. The initial cleaning water containing the heaviest contamination and residual product of the cleaning agents will be captured and taken to our processing installation. After the heat exchangers have been cleaned, the immediate surroundings will be cleaned up to prevent initial contamination by the sucking in of dried sediment in the vicinity.
Coating of air-cooled heat exchangers with Alucoat®507 existing situation
The first step will be to spray in a cleaning agent and perform cleaning with high-pressure hot water (350 bar) to remove oxidation. Alucoat®507 will then be applied by means of the right equipment and spraying technique to ensure deep and even application of the coating. Besides the protection that it provides, Alucoat®507 improves heat transmission by strengthening badly damaged and thinning ‘soft’ lamellas and improving contact between the lamellas and the tube.
New machines
At our premises we have a modern spraying line (20 metres) controlled by a state-of-the-art spraying computer. Besides treatment with Alucoat®507, the casing can be sprayed in a chosen colour.
Warranty and maintenance
After application of the coating we will draw up a delivery report and affix an application label to the machine. You will further receive a warranty certificate. With more than 30 years of hands-on experience with Alucoat®507, we are able to conclude maintenance contracts with a 10-year warranty.
